I loved this. So much. What a tremendous look at the history here! I kind of can't stand Buck, but I really, really like the look at the history he shares with Bob Fraser, and how, yeah, it must have been kind of intimidating for a guy like Bob to imagine sharing his life with a wife. God. This was a brilliant look at them. I'm so damn impressed! This line in particular stuck with me:

Breakfast was the usual sort of culinary adventure, and they ate as usual, heads down, mouths full, silent and efficient. Bob wondered what it would be like, eating breakfast with Caroline, wondered what she would cook and whether she’d let him do the coffee.

Really, really good.
