I picked a train

even though there are lots of modes of transportation to be chosen from in the canon of this show.
So here we have 311 words of conversation between Bob and Buck.

Privy to a Conversation
by JennyB.

"Bob, is that really you?"

"Of course it's me. Who else would be staring up at you from the privy on a train?"

"Well, you have a point there. It's just that, well..."

"You never expected to see me again."

"No, frankly, I didn't."

"Always knew you had little faith, if any, in me."

"That's not true now! I had more faith in you than any other human on the face of this earth."

"As I did in you, Buck. You know, if Caroline had outlived me, I'd've wanted her to go to you. And she would've, too. She loved you almost as much as she loved me."

And I loved her almost as much as I loved you. "Where's the real Bob Fraser? You were never this honest when you were alive. Why should you now that you're dead?"

"I was always honest with you! Who told you to lay off the gorgonzola? You know you're lactose intolerant and yet you persist in eating that awful stuff. It just a good thing I can’t smell."

"We’re on a speeding train loaded with explosives and you're still quibbling about my eating habits? Where is your sense of priority, man?"

"Being dead does give you a different perspective on thing. I heard that, you know."

"Heard what?"

"What you thought when I was talking about Caroline."

"I didn't think anything."

"You did so."

"Well, I'm not going to stand here and argue with you. Your son needs my help."

"I'm glad you're here to help him. You were always there for me."

"Except for the one time it really counted. You're dead, after all."

"Yes, well, I'm still here, aren't I?"

"Can you visit any time?"

"Far as I know. I'm still figuring this afterlife thing out."

"Come by any time, Bob. I could use the company."

"Will do, Buck. Will do."

I liked this. There's a nice companionable dialog going there. It is true that the show never visited the rather surprising fact that Robert never let Buck in on the dam fraud case he was working on. A possible conversation for some pairing to have: this one, or Robt and Fraser or even Fraser with either Ray.
Were Fraser's own lone eagle tendencies more tempered by the nature of the two Rays or by his posting circumstance?
