Oh, I figure the spring was about half a km away, far enough that Ray wouldn't necessarily have stumbled on it himself, and Fraser was saving it til Ray really really needed it. Well, that, and it actually took him a while to realise that Ray really was sick of the tin tub, not just randomly bitchin.

As for installing a hot water service... care to do the math on transporting hot water half a kilometre through copper pipe when it's -50C below and still having it liquid, much less warm, when it gets to the other end? If it were me, I'd install the hot water service ;)
