I really like this.

In the year since his car-crash, Armando Langoustini had successfully avoided any ‘payments’ for any ‘services’ which were necessary in his line of work.

I like how you made that point. I can see Vecchio trying to keep everything as safe as posssible, but being undercover with the mob would lead him to do things he wouldn't do otherwise. He's probably helping to keep himself alive, as well as Fraser. At some point, someone would notice that Armando wasn't quite as ruthless as he probably was before or that he wasn't spreading money and jobs around. And that would be bad. Does all of that make sense? I can't tell.

The point is, I liked it very much. If you wanted to maybe write the part where Ray takes Fraser to Canada and what happens when Fraser finds out, I, for one, wouldn't mind. *g*
