This is really brilliant. I waited until I finished the movie to read this and it was well worth the wait. Mamet is a lost soul and such a fascinating character; nobody really understands what he's thinking, or why he does the things he does. And while I think that CKR did great work in a so-so film, there's so much more they could have explored with his character.
What you've done for Mamet's character is incredible. You've got a great eye for detail, and the way you connected all the dots was ingenious. You took my breath away; at several points in the story, I had to take a break and do a little mental yesyesyes dance, because this interpretation--Mamet as Ray Kowalski's truly final undercover job--packed so much emotion and meaning into Mamet's eccentricities. You made everything click together, and your story broke my heart and put it back together again.
