The phone rings and he breaks out into a cold sweat. He knows who's calling but he considers answering. What if it's Ray? Ray would be concerned if he called the Consulate when he knew Fraser was there and Fraser didn't answer.

But what if it is that voice that has been haunting the Consulate every night for the past two weeks?

He can't tell Ray that he is scared of a voice. Even if it is the raspy voice of an escaped cop killer whose knife had scarred his thigh and soul. A killer who is biding his time.
