This really does veer wildly from manic crack to violence and grief.

Something about the story, especially as segmented into the stages of grief, makes me think that Fraser's special power is a delusion. Losing his mother was terrible, and it was all his fault for misusing his power, but at least that means it was also under his control. *shivers*
