I think this does fit the Mix and Match challenge... I think. Mostly adapted from "Heaven and Earth" and a few lines from "Strange Bedfellows". Implied F/K. Rating: mild language, about 1200 words.

Title: Strange But Not a Stranger
Pairing: F/K
Rating: PG
Size: 3,605 words

Notes: Wrote this back when the challenge was originally up but I didn't get it finished in time. Decided to dig and out and post it as part of an elaborate plan to procrastinate studying for my Torts exam. Thanks as always to [livejournal.com profile] torakowalski who probably doesn't even remember betaing this it was so long ago. Title from the Talking Head's song Burning Down the House, for obvious reasons. Any lines you recognize probably come straight from the show.

Um, I'm not entirely sure if this is allowed, so you guys are all allowed to yell at me if it is not. I've posted this before, but it fits this challenge so perfectly that my mild OCD psyche cannot resist putting it into its proper box, if it is allowed.

The original AU is Vigilante. It is somewhere around 80 K long, and is RayK POV gen. Rated R for general disturbingness.

The sequel (because AUs have a tendency to breed) is Visiting Hours. ~40 K, also gen, set not very long after Vigilante, with Fraser POV. Refers to Vigilante a lot, so it's also probably something like R for disturbingness.

Again, please let me know if this is inappropriate; general feedback on the story appreciated too, by the by. *g*

For the Mix and Match Challenge. Vague spoilers for all of the series, but particularly "Call of the Wild", after which it is set.

My entry for the Mix and Match challenge - and amazingly not even bordering on late!

Rating: Um, R or 15. Maybe.
Pairing: RayK/Fraser
Spoilers: For Victoria's Secret, but you'd never know!

So many thank yous to Janne (the best beta in the history of betas!) all remaining mistakes blame me.

This is my longer response to the Mix n' Match challenge. The story takes place two years after this snippet, in which RayK pisses off the CPD and winds up doing some liaising instead of Fraser. There's another role swap in this one, inducing snark and angst in our poor Ray. *grins*

So I, with much thanks to my lovely beta [livejournal.com profile] mondschein1, now present 1767 words (what word limit?!?) of RayK/Fraser:

This is what happens (at least to me) when you watch "Diefenbaker's Day Off" with this challenge in the back of your head.

So this entry doesn't fit the challenge exactly, I don't think -- it's not an AU -- but it does sort of flip Ray 'n' Fraser's roles. Specifically, in CotW, Fraser is good at dealing with the snow and ice and cold, and Ray is not, and falls on his face and generally makes a fool of himself. So, here Fraser's generally making a fool of himself, and Ray is keeping him from getting himself killed. Again, not an AU -- just a look at how tables can turn. Lemme know if you think it doesn't fit the challenge.

Post-CotW, non-explicit F/K. 1369 words. Rated R for language and bloodiness and absolutely nothing else, as usual. *g*

I'm not quite sure if this is a proper mix n' match. But I wrote this bit of unusable background for a longer (and quite different) challenge response I'm working on. I thought I would share it with you all now, since it also stands on its own.

Here's my entry, you might want to kill me for it, but what's a little murder between friends?

It was the idea that struck me in the night, like an insane kamikaze plotbunny.

And it wins a "suitable for all" rating, by virtue of nobody losing clothing.
