Here's my entry for the makeup challenge...in just under the limit at 991 words. These shorts are really hard for a novelist!!
There are holes in the logic of this piece, one big one in fact, but if I don't stop asking myself questions, I won't be able to make it in under the 1000 words. Anyway, I'll stop babbling and let it go. So here it is...
