Jewel(le)ry challenge response

This challenge makes me think of Adorned, by [livejournal.com profile] resonant8. Just thought I'd mention that.

Anyway, here's a wee contribution to the jewelry (jewellery?) challenge.

Bracelet

The leather is a thin strip of reindeer, stronger than it appears. The bead is granite, the hole bored painstakingly and just barely big enough for the thong to penetrate; it doesn't slide.

Fraser is fairly certain Ray will like it. Has imagined tying it around Ray's wrist, wondered which hand Ray would proffer, hoped that Ray's pulse might flutter beneath his fingertips.

He knots it loosely and slides it on. Tonight he will present it to Ray -- warmed by his own heat, his own heart -- and hope, against all logic, that Ray will know what is offered.

Mmmmmm, I'd say Ray'll understand.

::nodnod::

Yeah.

How do you do that in only 100 words? Loved this:

Has imagined tying it around Ray's wrist, wondered which hand Ray would proffer, hoped that Ray's pulse might flutter beneath his fingertips.

This challenge is really bringing out the descriptive, sensual side of the writers. :) And yes, it did remind me of "Adorned", too. :)

Beautiful drabble; beautiful bracelet.

*sigh*

I think Ray'll get it.

It's like an amaretto cookie with my coffee - not that a big piece of cheesecake isn't nice - but this is just perfect. Light, but somehow satisfying. (It must be morning coffee time here.)

Oh! Warm! You made me warm and ooey-gooey, but in a totally unshmoopy way. What a lovely way to use 100 words~

You just give us so much of Fraser in this 100 words. Love it. Love the bracelet, too. Ray will definitely get it.

I have this very clear picture of it resting on the same wrist as his beaded silver bracelet, twined together because he never takes either off. Hmmmm. Thanks Kass.

Oh, that's lovely. I love the bead that doesn't slide -- it seems to sum up everything -- the concession that goes only so far, and yet is so very hard-won, carved out of such difficult material ...

Oh, lovely! A beautiful bracelet and a beautiful gesture. (And I bet Ray gets it right away.) *g*

It's the poet in you, man. You do these drabbles like nobody else. They're always just these perfect melodies, not fragments. Really really lovely!

Ha!--are you kidding?? I don't think it even LOOKS easy. And as Mrs. Verbal Diarrhea 2003, believe me, I know how tough it is!

Oh, beautiful.

...and hope, against all logic, that Ray will know what is offered.

Yes.
