ADMIN POST: The Lie or Lay Challenge
Helvirago suggested a challenge in which someone is lying, "as in, a character must be lying, or the narrator could be lying, or a criminal is lying." But lying of course has a double meaning: there's lying as in deception or fabrication, and then lying as in in lying down. And of course, there's that notorious confusion between lie and lay, not that I would ever encourage you in such confusion.
So! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to write a story about lying--i.e. fabrication, reclining, fucking, or grammar. Possibly all four if you feel you can pull it off.
It's Sunday night by my watch; new stories are due Sunday March 13th at midnight.

...Okay, the ingenuity of our fandom gives me very high hopes for this challenge.

Challenge idea: "The Oddest Places"
1) At least one character has to be somewhere you wouldn't expect to see him/her (i.e., Fraser sunbathing at a nude beach on Lake Michigan, Welsh just about anywhere other than the 27th, Ray Vecchio at a yoga class, Turnbull at an academic conference, etc.), or
2) An item has to be found somewhere unexpected: it turns up in a very odd place.
I went through the list of old challenges and didn't see anything similar. Too complicated, or is this a workable challenge idea?
