Ice challenge

Just a little piece of ephemeral fluff (well, 2027 words' worth). This can be blamed entirely on my long-standing desire to write Fraser shovelling snow. *g*

Seven Deadly Sins challenge

A collection of not entirely uplifting little morality fables, one for each of the seven deadly sins. (With apologies for length; I have committed the sin of going over the word count.)

Hum-de-hum-hum, more Vecchio in Vegas. (The piece of jewelry in question can be viewed here.)

Just one of those gen late-night conversation pieces for which I have such a weakness -- Welsh and Vecchio, this time. (And 2000 words, arrgh.) It should be noted that this story assumes you've seen Dr. Longball (and if you haven't, why not? RayK looking fetching in a poncho, RayK getting naked in a locker room, plus your added bonus Welsh-angst, what's not to like?)

Many many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] laurashapiro and [livejournal.com profile] _aerye_ for superlative beta; as always, remaining flaws are all my fault.

Under the wire...

Um, I didn't think I was going to get this finished in time, but since Ces hasn't lowered the gate yet--

Vecchio, gen, over the word limit, un-beta'd, the usual.

And very imaginatively titled Scars )

For the Darkness challenge

I feel rather sheepish posting this thing here, because it is a complete and total piece of self-indulgence--a coda to another story of mine, The End of the Road. (If you haven't waded through that one, the only background you need to know is Fraser and RayK try to make a life together in Inuvik after CotW, it doesn't work out, Ray goes back south, and Fraser transfers to a remote Arctic single-member detachment called Holman.) Anyway, this came into my head when I was thinking about the Darkness challenge, and it refused to go away. Um, it's over the word limit, too. Apologies all around. *g*

Um. As usual, last-minute, over the word limit, high-speed, un-beta'd. Gen, post-Vegas Vecchio. Baggage )

Slipping under the wire...

This is late, but Ces hasn't shut the gate yet on the last challenge, so...

It's also over the word limit, and churned out at speed, and wildly under-edited. And doesn't have a title. But I was in the mood for some Welsh, and since nobody else was bringin' me the Welsh-love, I figured I'd roll my own. Just a little snippet of hypothetical Welsh and RayK backstory.

This challenge *rocks.* One thing I've been enjoying in some of the stories ([livejournal.com profile] shellmidwife's and [livejournal.com profile] heuradys's, for example) is writers taking the opportunity to use some of their own specific professional knowledge in the documents they create. So this weekend, after several grueling days of getting new college students oriented and registed, and scribbling reams of file notes, I found this floating into my head. It's wayyyy over the word limit, so I'm posting it on my own webspace rather than in LJ, with apologies for inconvenience. Just a bit of silly fluff, but I had fun writing it.

Well, I'm way the hell over the word limit, but at least I beat the deadline. Maybe I'm getting the hang of this writing-faster thing. (Hah.) This one is dedicated to the proposition that The World Needs More Welsh.
