It's still before midnight somewhere... right?

This story covers, let's see, Threesome, Voyeurism, Masturbation, Make-Up, Courtesy, Curtain, Knickers, Shakespeare (via Stoppard), Cliche #11 (Lookalike), and possibly Door. It's NC-17 and weighs in at roughly 6600 words. (If I look at it as 1000 words per challenge, it's under the "We don't need no stinkin' word limit"!)

I'd have never been able to start this story on Thursday night - let alone finish it today - without the folks in #discourse. Their prodding, praying, and cheerleading got me through this with most of my psyche intact, if sleep-deprived. Thanks, you guys! Extra special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster and [livejournal.com profile] justacat for beta and hand-holding-beyond-the-call - and to [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster again for the perfect title! I owe you both, bigtime! Thank you, too, [livejournal.com profile] theodosia for helping me try to title this thing at past the last minute! Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza for extending the deadline so I could finish it! And thanks and apologies to Tom Stoppard for the lines I lifted from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead and dropped into this story in various characters' mouths.

More for the amnesty challenge, because I just can't stop myself. This is just a silly bit of pre-adolescent humiliation, but oh so much fun.

May not be strictly kosher,so I posted it to my LJ - but since this muse bit me hard on the throat and wouldn't let me go until it was done with me, I figured I'd share the pain/love...

Yes, the curtain has dropped on the Curtainfic challenge, never to rise again! All 32 stories can be found here.

Give yourselves a hearty round of applause, and please take your trash with you to the exits!

New challenge coming tomorrow.

My attempt for last weeks challenge crashed and burned, so I stripped it for parts. Besides feeding off my own story compost heap, I also recycled a classic, and somewhere in the process I seem to have found a new OTP. If anyone has recs for this pair (heck, if anyone knows if anyone has *done* this pair before --I've certainly never seen it) let me know. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] rubyrosered for beta on short notice.

Just a silly little thing. Though I have a new personal best. I've smashed through the 100-word barrier.

I'm posting this for my friend Ozsaur, who says this is just over the word limit for a drabble. Let's call it a drabble on steroids.

I believe this is the first time she's dipped her toe in here. Yay!

May it be the first of many )

I'm not writing enough angst lately, and my hands got itchy.

Posting this with reservations, as I'm not sure how well it fits into canon, but BethH thinks it's possible, so...

Taking advantage of my Atmosphere class, canonical vagueness about geography, and my boss's absence...

That Incident

Constable Turnbull stood to attention, clasping the squawking duck to his chest. Downy white feathers eddied around his boots. He remained perfectly still and mentally recited the method of preparing Peking Duck, which was unfair to the duck however, as it was not at fault. Oh no, this was most definitely Turnbull’s fault. Constable Fraser crouched before the Inspector’s new drapes. Having scraped off the duck ordure and ratatouille he was now applying a concoction the colour and consistency of mayonnaise to the stains. As the duck fidgeted he tightened his grip, wondering if the unguent would also clean serge.

Because I couldn't think of anything sensible to write: A Drabble (with apologies to The Wizard of Oz).

I used to have a writing teacher whose motto was, "Whatever gets in the way of the work, is the work." I wanted to get some writing done today, but all I can really think about is this cold. Presto: this snippet was born. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] carlacoupe for helping me be coherent. 745 words. With curtains. )

Well, I'm way the hell over the word limit, but at least I beat the deadline. Maybe I'm getting the hang of this writing-faster thing. (Hah.) This one is dedicated to the proposition that The World Needs More Welsh.

Because this is short and fun and my whole fuckin' *life* doesn't depend on it. (Exaggerate? Moi?) It does prove that I'm very literal-minded and generally write sap; just in case you didn't already know. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kassrachel, whose support and suggestions are both much appreciated. ::mwah::
