It's still before midnight somewhere... right?

This story covers, let's see, Threesome, Voyeurism, Masturbation, Make-Up, Courtesy, Curtain, Knickers, Shakespeare (via Stoppard), Cliche #11 (Lookalike), and possibly Door. It's NC-17 and weighs in at roughly 6600 words. (If I look at it as 1000 words per challenge, it's under the "We don't need no stinkin' word limit"!)

I'd have never been able to start this story on Thursday night - let alone finish it today - without the folks in #discourse. Their prodding, praying, and cheerleading got me through this with most of my psyche intact, if sleep-deprived. Thanks, you guys! Extra special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster and [livejournal.com profile] justacat for beta and hand-holding-beyond-the-call - and to [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster again for the perfect title! I owe you both, bigtime! Thank you, too, [livejournal.com profile] theodosia for helping me try to title this thing at past the last minute! Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza for extending the deadline so I could finish it! And thanks and apologies to Tom Stoppard for the lines I lifted from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead and dropped into this story in various characters' mouths.

Quick like a bunny! Here's a slapdash Shakespeare challenge entry.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] daughtershade and [livejournal.com profile] askye for emergency beta services! And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] heuradys who took time out from her own frantic scribbling to help me along.

I know, I suck. Wrapping Christmas presents took a lot longer than I thought it would, and then I was a little daunted by this one. Nothing much came to me, so I went with the obvious. Dark thoughts, hauntings and the nature of reality, the Bard in a nutshell. The last one should come tomorrow, though they seem to be getting longer every time, so I'm a little frightened.

If you missed the earlier bits, Head Trip I can be found here. From there you can go through the sections in order.

1252 words. Another one of those stories that have hung around for awhile. It started out as a Star Trek story, but I couldn’t get past the “image that doesn’t exist in nature.” I transferred the image to an X-Files story I was working on about five years ago which never got finished (barely got started), and then came Ray and Benton. Perfect fit, I thought, and it made more sense with them anyway, so I’ve been massaging it for a couple months, waiting for the right challenge to come along.

Call me crazy, but I like Shakespeare's sonnets just as much as his plays, and this challenge took over my brain and decided to drench me in other poets as well.

500 words.

I realize this isn't exactly what the challenge was meant to generate, but I sat down to write and this is what happened. I hope y'all enjoy. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sanj and [livejournal.com profile] sihayab for giving me the go-ahead. 367 words of Shakespeare...kinda. )

Stinky writes:

The show makes a lot of references to Shakespeare--Fraser is haunted by his father's ghost (Hamlet), Frobisher's March 11th speech (Henry V), the entire episode of Juliet is Bleeding (Romeo and Juliet of course), etc. So how about a challenge using a reference to or quotes from Shakespeare?

So how about it, kids? "Wherefore art thou Fraser? Deny thy father, and refuse thy name..."

It's now Tuesday morning in my little corner of the universe; challenge responses are due next Tuesday by midnight.
