For the [livejournal.com profile] ds_flashfiction First Line Challenge
First line is from the beautiful and heartbreakingly sad Here At the End of All Things by the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] shihadchick. I, uhm, have a penchant for happy endings, babe, and went in kind of a different direction. *g*
Fraser/Kowalski
NC-17
Summary: Ray's learning to live in Canada, but he's not in tune with it, not like he was with Chicago.

Enormous thank yous to [livejournal.com profile] misspamela and [livejournal.com profile] justbreathe80 for the quick quick last minute betas!

Title: Some Like It Both Ways
By [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl
Rating NC-17!!! No kids at all should click here! Lots of sex and some of it is GAY.
Summary: After "Some Like it Red" FRASER decides that he wants to be a woman forever. He goes to the nearest Vodun community to see what they can do. He meets KOWALSKI and they fall madly and deeply in love. But oh no, the RayK has no idea Fraser's not what he seems. What happens when VECCHIO appears and pregnancy is involved? For [livejournal.com profile] lozenger8, because she totally thought this was a wicked good idea and I said I would write it for her as hot as I could!

Author's Note: Sentences in BOLD with ** around it indicates internal thoughts of Benton. Sentences UNDERLINED with ** indicated internal thoughts of Ray (KOWALSKI). Sentences in ITALICS with ** around it indicate internal thoughts of Ray (VECCHIO). I decided to put all the events (the cross-dressing and the voodoo stuff) in the same season because it makes things easier.

Pairing: F/K
Rating: NC-17
Many, many beta thanks go to ms. [livejournal.com profile] pearl_o for being mean, and right. *loves*

For the Fuck or Die Challenge. It fits if you, uhm, squint. Also for [livejournal.com profile] estrella30, who is having a no-good, very bad week.

Title: Girls Girls Girls
Author: [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl
Pairing: F/K
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Ray was a girl. A fucking girl.

Were it not for the timely and MOST GENEROUS beta of ms. [livejournal.com profile] estrella30 and the encouragement and beta of ms. [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster (who, when I shyly asked for a beta on this, said, "You know me! I live for this stuff!") and, this would never have been finished. *smooches you both*

(actually, this needs a Very Special Thank You since, okay. I think you all know how [livejournal.com profile] estrella30 feels about genderfuck. In that she doesn't like it. She, apparently, weirdly, doesn't want Ray to have boobs. And yet, through her deep and sincere love for me and my last-minute writing, she OFFERED to beta for me, out of the goodness of her pretty little heart. And while, okay, said beta included comments such as Hi. My name is Run-On Sentence. Can you fix me please? and A) why is this now punctuated perfectly? Do you LIKE writing het sex? And b) WHY IS THIS SO HOT YOU BITCH?, still, it was a kick-ass beta and I owe her big-time.)

Title: The Long Way Home
By [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl

It fits the challenge, but it's dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] pearl_o whose birthday was - okay, uh, a while ago. Like, okay, maybe seven weeks or so. But! It's here! It's her birthday fic/Necking challenge fic, and it has young queer Fraser and happy birthday, my dear young [livejournal.com profile] pearl_o!

Many thanks to both [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster and [livejournal.com profile] estrella30 for multiple rounds of beta work!

Side of the Road
By [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl

It's 1,876 words of Kowalski/Vecchio, and, uh, *koff* This is a work of FICTION. Any similarity to actual events is completely coincid - oh, fuck it, yeah, okay, I totally got the idea for this from Dira's bad bad day. It's dedicated to you, hon. Sorry I, uh. Turned your shit day into a Ray/Ray story.

Beta thanks go to the truly inimitable [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster, and I also owe thanks to ms. [livejournal.com profile] estrella for naked inspirational cheerleading.

Gas Food Lodging
By [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Ray/Ray
Summary: He should be in control, this shouldn't be as hot as it was, it just shouldn't, because this was annoy-the-fuck-out-of-him-at-any-given-opportunity Vecchio.

Enormous thanks to the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster, who went over this time and again, pushed me where I needed to be pushed, allowed me to lift lines directly from her beta (give her full credit for "Lucky you," please), and was an all-around kick-ass cheerleader through this whole thing.

It's set, uh, mostly outside of Chicago.

Easy (for the Jewelry challenge)
By [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Ray/Ray, dirty little sluts that they are.
Summary: When Kowalski gets in a mood like this, it's usually best to just go with it.

Thanks to the wonderful and patient [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster for her usual kick-ass beta job and for being cruel enough to shove me into the right point of view. *smooches you*

This one's for [livejournal.com profile] pearl_o, who put the idea in my head. Sorry it's Vecchio and Kowalski - I couldn't help myself.

Title: Fine Line
Author: BrooklineGirl
Rating: PG (I know. It's shocking.)
Pairing: Kowalski/Vecchio (note the nifty new Ray/Ray icon, provided by the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] daughtershade)

I can't even express how much I adore my extraordinarily patient betas: [livejournal.com profile] spacebabe, [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster, and [livejournal.com profile] estrella30. They looked at draft after draft of this and gave me immeasurably helpful advice and pointers and suggestions and - yeah. I don't know what I would ever do without them. *heart*

Cool in the Backseat
By witchbaby
5/2004
NC-17

Summary: Fraser's watching Ray, but it takes Ray a little while to catch on.

Written expressly for mistress [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster, but taking advantage of the fact that it's public sex, as well!

Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lamardeuse for the supremely fast beta work, and to [livejournal.com profile] dsudis and [livejournal.com profile] estrella30 for double-checking my smut.

Not quite so last minute as last week! I present to you my Many Tongues Challenge response. Plot and title shamelessly stolen from the A-Team episode. A plot that was, in fact, shamelessly stolen from the Starsky and Hutch episode "Shootout." If Stephen J. Cannell can do it, then so can I (a conjecture that is sure to take me far in life).

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster, who suggested I write incisively logical Ray (only Ray just didn't take well to logic and sort of sent the story down a different path). And huge thanks to [livejournal.com profile] justacat for wonderful, last-minute beta-work above and beyond the call of duty. This story wouldn't be anywhere near what it is without her.

Okay, really, honestly, racing in at way the hell past the last second and dear lord, tell me to keep my mouth shut the next time I promise to finish something in a certain amount of time, okay? Many thanks to SnowFlake, my ever-patient beta, for flying through this one with me (any mistakes are my own; she went over this with a fine-tooth comb), and huge, major thanks to Speranza for holding this damn thing up for me.

4,086 words because I have zero control over Ray and Fraser.

I think [livejournal.com profile] _aerye_'s icon (lord, I think it was hers) pretty much says all there is to say about the "plot" of this one. A huge thank-you to [livejournal.com profile] spacebabe for the wonderfully comprehensive and helpful beta (I didn't curse you too much this time), done so damn quickly. Could never do this without you.

Way over-length (2,777 words) and it feels like ages since I've actually finished a DS fic - so very odd.

Bad Behavior )
[identity profile] brooklinegirl.livejournal.com
Summary: Fraser watches Ray watching movies. Terribly late and woefully long (4999) response to the Movies Challenge. And, um, you don't have to have seen the movie Hoosiers to understand this. I, myself, can't really understand how this ended up being based around Hoosiers, which you really wouldn't think would be a terribly romantic movie, only it sorta is. Weirdness.

Great thanks go to my wonderful betas: [livejournal.com profile] lamardeuse, for a huge amount of help, including encouraging all the NC-17ness and for giving me a push to expand the ending, and to [livejournal.com profile] shayheyred for all her in-depth work on this piece, for giving me phrasing, and for telling me when things make sense only in my head. And a special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] spacebabe for forcing me to realize, yeah, okay, fine, you're right, that doesn't work for this story.

Intimations )
[identity profile] brooklinegirl.livejournal.com
The pairing is Ray/Ray, god save my mortal soul. Response to the Kaleidoscope Eyes Challenge. Ray Vecchio and Ray Kowalski have a couple of beers together. Let's see what happens.

Big, huge thanks to my most wonderful betas: my dearest SnowFlake, who is infinitely patient and encouraging, who walks me through my fic issues step by step, who brings my fic in line and allows me to steal phrasing from her all the damn time. And lamardeuse, who lets me fling these last-minute beta jobs at her, and okays my characterization of the boys, and forgives me for making her enjoy Ray/Ray.

Oh, and it's way over limit (3201)

Take It Outside )
[identity profile] brooklinegirl.livejournal.com
All right. So I originally started writing this for the Porn challenge back in September. I had a nice, light fic idea in my head. I started writing it, it got away from me, and turned real dark. Seems apt for this challenge. I think I’ve watched “The Ladies Man” too much. This is set right afterwards, with Ray still dealing with the aftermath of the Beth Botrelle case.

Dear lord, this ran long. My response to the Door Challenge, 4198 words. Eek.

Great thanks to my ever-vigilant beta-reader, SnowFlake.

My oh my, I finally complete a fic (relatively) on time. Of course, it's entirely over-length, and not particularly about keys. But still, successfully completed, and both [livejournal.com profile] jenboo and [livejournal.com profile] lamardeuse were wonderful enough to respond to my panicked, last-minute pleas for beta-ing. So here you go:
