Icon challenge
I'm glad this challenge didn't pass me by before I had a crack at it. A whole day stuck in the house due to a blizzard is a great time to catch up on your writing.
I always liked this picture, because it’s probably just an informal photo from the set; PG is definitely PG in this, rather than Fraser, and CKR has such a fabulous grin. In the context of Ray and Fraser, you could interpret it as a snapshot…well, I won’t give it away. So I don’t know if it’s kosher to make my own icon for my own story, but I didn’t want to steal anyone else’s, and since I don’t plan stories out, I figured it wasn’t exactly cheating. The length most definitely is questionable, though, at slightly over 2000 words. :)

ADMIN POST: Icon Challenge Extended
D'oh--I meant for the Icon Challenge to continue till the week after Escapade, and so of course I got the date wrong. Those of you trapped away from the con, take this as a sign from the deity of your choice that you're supposed to be writing an Icon Explanation story--the deadline for this challenge will be next Wednesday, February 25th!

This is, unfortunately, not as dirty as the name implies. I seem to recall something at the beginning of season three about the boys, art and fire. Oh and it's not actually a DS icon but... 464 words. ( Frottage )

I think_aerye_'s icon (lord, I think it was hers) pretty much says all there is to say about the "plot" of this one. A huge thank-you to spacebabe for the wonderfully comprehensive and helpful beta (I didn't curse you too much this time), done so damn quickly. Could never do this without you.
Way over-length (2,777 words) and it feels like ages since I've actually finished a DS fic - so very odd.

Icon challenge
When this challenge was first announced, I scanned the icons of the folks who post and comment regularly here. I had intentions of stretching a little -- maybe opting for one of the funny icons, or one of the Bob icons, and seeing where it took me. But in the end, once I remembered this icon of imkalena's, I had to write this instead. Many thanks to sanj and sihayab for beta.

Okay, here it stands corrected...many thanks and sprinkles on top to Speranza for babying me into the fascinating upload process of livejournal...you rock! Icon belongs to byob-kenobi, made for her by daughtershade. No theft intended...just taking it out for a bit of a spin...thanks for the loan. It apparently nested on my hat until now, and this is the result. Hope you like it...let me know. And, thanks for reading.

This one comes from doll_revolution and it's so good that I think we'll let it go for two weeks so that Escapade doesn't interrupt it. It's The Icon Explanation Challenge, which doll explains as "where we write a DS story based on our favorite icon that other people have."
In other words, write a story that explicates or illustrates a DS icon that you've seen on the web, and please include the icon *with* your story. Think of the icon as an illustration of sorts (and please note whose icon it is that you're using!)
Today's Wednesday by my watch; stories are due two Wednesdays from now (i.e. February 18th) at midnight.
Edited to add: Just to clarify; I don't intend for you to use the icon yourself; rather, you should upload it with the story, as a picture, and be sure to cite where it's from. This isn't an exercise in icon-stealing; rather, it should work more like the "favorite icon" meme that went around some time ago. If there are other questions, please drop a comment in the notes!
