Oh, I love this! I love how the pieces sketch in a larger world we can imagine for them, and their relationship (camaraderie? ease-with-tension?) is deeply satisfying. Yay!

I love this so much. This just works as a five things story so well, too, which makes it even more satisfying. I love the whole five things subgenre, and I love it when the story really FITS, and it isn't just a conceit.
