Here's a little something...

"...Look, Ma; no angst!!"

Overheard one day at the Canadian Consulate...

"... fuck you 'til your eyes cross ..."

Ren stopped in his tracks outside the office door. Surely that hadn't been Constable Fraser's voice he'd heard.

"Yeah, and then what?"

Oh, dear. That was most certainly the detective currently known as Ray Vecchio.

" ... make you scream, bitch ..."

Yes, definitely Constable Fraser's voice, if not his usual vocabulary or tone. It seemed Ren was intruding on a private moment. Perhaps they weren't aware the door hadn't shut all the way. In which case, he'd be doing them a favour to announce his presence so that they could arrange a more suitable venue for their ... discussion. He softly backed up two paces and then purposely trod on the squeaky floorboard before walking to the door and knocking loudly.

"Enter," he heard, and so he did, trepidation and titillation equally mixed within him. He thought he was prepared for the worst, and was surprised to find the constable sitting calmly at his desk, Ray perched on the far corner. They looked at him curiously.

"I'm so terribly sorry, sir. I was passing by and I ... well, I'm sure you're not aware of how well your voice carries, sir -- probably the musical training. And I was passing by, as I said, and --"

Constable Fraser cut him off. "Turnbull, for God's sake stop blithering. Ray and I need to be in Judge Hogan's chambers by two, and we're rather busy going over our notes. Did you need something?"

"Your ... notes, sir?"

Ray spoke up then. "Fraser's practicing his cursing. He's the only one who heard the guy, seeing's how I just got regular normal ears, and the girl's still not talking. So he's gotta testify to what he heard, only he's worried he won't be able to say it."

"Ah," said Ren. He winked at Ray. "Understood. I'll just leave you to it, then, shall I?" He turned and walked out the door, wondering as he did just how stupid they really thought he was. Practising testimony indeed. Please.

Okay, a very amusing start to my day. I'm grinning here. Loved this, Turnbull startled, yet game. And what an exchange he overheard...I can totally picture Fraser practicing his cursing. Lovely!

::snigger::

I'll have to remember that. Hey, I'm not cursing *or* outlining our evening's activities! I'm practicing my testimony.

Yeah. Right.

Even *Ren's* not that stupid. ;>

Some people sure have an interesting notion of testimony . . .

"Speak it, Brother Fraser!"

""Can I hear an Amen?"

[identity profile] jenboo.livejournal.com 2003-06-12 11:22 am (UTC)(link)
AMEN!

Heehee! Deb, you rock.

"Enter," he heard, and so he did, trepidation and titillation equally mixed within him.

Naughty Ren!
