Due to popular demand! (and the really very rich nature of this week's Cliché Challenge), I am extending the challenge deadline by a week and a day.
All stories for the Cliché Challenge will now be due by Sunday night, August 10th, at midnight.(Thanks to cmshaw for finding the acute e!)
Also: there has been some question as to whether or not the "floating" deadline is working, i.e. whether we like that the story deadline shifts days of the week. Originally, I thought it was a good thing in that it accounted for different people's writing and internet habits--some people write on the weekends, some people prefer the weekdays, etc.--and figured that nobody would be unfairly advantaged that way. But the idea that the floating deadling is merely confusing, i.e. nobody ever knows exactly when the deadline is, has been raised to me. So could y'all give me a shout out about this? Do we:
a) leave things alone! It ain't broke, don't fix it, and I like our wild freewheeling ways! Plus I can't tell time!
or
b) fix the challenges so that, say, they're always due midnight on Sunday. (I think Sunday night would be the most reasonable time for this, but I'm willing to be talked into some other night if there's a rationale I'm missing.) That way I always know how much time left I have to get my entry in!
Anyway, please pop into the comments or send me an email to let me know what you think about this, ok? TYK.
