That's my bad, then. I'd reread it so recently that it was frontmost in my mind. Still, live and learn! In my dreams, things always have one main storyline but there are bizarre substitutions of people/place/thing along the way -- I once had a very disturbing dream about my ex dying, and halfway through the dream his body briefly turned into a taco. It turned back again, and it wasn't at all important in the dream, but... that's my guiding principle from now on if I write dreams: Remember that sometimes things can turn into tacos without having any effect on the story itself. That, or I'm... well, crazy.
And in the spirit of telling not showing, that guy? Joe Dick. I thought about making it clearer, but I decided it didn't matter. So it's a little treat just for you.
