I can't believe people in the US know about this show. There's even fanfic about it? You've got to be kidding! And why oh why do the IC crew sound exactly like them, the ridiculous enthusiasm and all, when I've only seen the show once or twice and have never heard it in its English version?
Yup. Iron Chef is a cult favorite around here. I love it! As for how they sound, I'm going by the English dubbed episodes that they show on the Food Network. I'm glad the voices sound right. I could acutally hear the English versions of Fukui, Hattori, and Ota in my head when I was writing. Especially Ota... he's just too excited about his job. Hee!
This is just the kind of craziness Turnbul might actually come up with. Brava, Shade! But I'm holding you accountable for the vivid image in my head of Ray in a blue kimono (which might actually work - hmm, come to think of it he'd look pretty fetching in mine, if it were several inches longer. With zori sandals and... Ahh! Somebody please take this mental picture out of my head!!) and for the fact that now I can't help snickering at any samurai show I come across.
CKR... kimono... mmmmmmmmm! Hee! It is a rather nice image isn't it? The bad part is, that like you, I'll be sticking Ren into all those samurai movies on IFC on saturday mornings. (Poor Zatoichi wouldn't stand a chance...)
