And the ending; him sitting in the car quietly crying and Fraser, with his hand on the back of his neck, not saying anything, because he knew there was nothing he could say that would ever erase the pain of being betrayed by someone you'd worshipped.

You know,that's an interesting take on that end scene. I always assumed it was connected to holding in his feelings about how he almost allowed Beth to die, but it's much more complex and fascinating to consider that part of his grief is for the betrayal. I like that.
