Yay! I had an inspiration for this challenge. Smooches and big thank you kindlies to
sihayab for the quick and painless beta.
One Night Stands
One night stands, huh?
Okay, I've had a couple.
I mean like, who hasn't? But I'm not really a one night stand kind of guy.
Once or twice back when I was younger and Stella and me were on the outs. You know, before we got married but not after. Never, after.
Okay, you have to swear you'll never repeat this.
After I'd moved out, I went to this bar. It was around the corner from the first place I rented after the split up. I was new in the neighborhood and didn't know. It was a gay bar, okay?
Anyway, I went there and ponied up to the bar. Got a beer and a shot and downed them. I got another, then I started looking around.
So the place was full of guys. Guys dancing, guys drinking, I didn't care. Screw it, I figured. I was there to get drunk.
I was working on my third boilermaker and this guy comes up. Offers to buy me a drink, which I passed on. Then he asks me to dance.
I was going to turn him down. Then I didn't.
The song had a good, driving beat. I was all messed up inside.
So, I nodded and got up. We danced, and it was good. Everything was cool.
I didn't let myself think about it. Me and Larry or Dave or whatever the hell his name was left the bar and went to his place.
That's the first time I'd ever done it. You know, with a guy. It was great. Greatness. And we played it safe, but I never did it again.
Hell, I couldn't remember the guy's name the next morning. Didn't really want to. Guess I wasn't cut out for that sort of thing. You know, sex without love.
The thing is; I'm not a one night stand guy, Fraser. If we're going to do this, I want it forever. Okay?
