So can I interest anyone in a quick readover of some cliche-ridden f/k smutty angst? Or angsty smut, depending on how you look at it?

So I never really figured that I'd need to worry about the word limit for this community, because wordiness has never been one of my vices. But...yeah. This one's about 1138 words over-limit. Don't ban me. (And if you're wondering, the fact that it has two titles means that there might be a sequel. I'm not sure yet.) Hugs and chocolate to [livejournal.com profile] kimberlyfdr for the beta. Cliche numbers 3 and 4.

Okay:

Because I'm insane, and a gay person, and [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl's bestest buddy, sometimes I write slash. I don't know why. I don't usually watch the shows the slash is based on. But I am a writer, and I try not to pander to my audience, no matter what genre I'm working in. The "cliche challenge" was especially intriguing to me, because I always enjoy when writers or other artists take a cliche and turn it into something new.

I'm not usre that's hwat I did here, but basing my Due South slash story on the writings of Hermann Hesse kind of produced some interesting results. Beware: lots of angst. I think it's actually a pretty good story, and I'd really appreciate some feedback.
