Hi,
I recently joined this community. I was aware of its existence before; read stories, comments, and was completely taken by what the challenge principle could evoke. I really wanted to participate myself.
When Cesperanza posted the Amnesty Challenge, I knew this was a chance that was too good to miss. So I browsed through the challenge list looking for inspiration and wrote a story that, as I believe, responds to the Threesome Challenge (which was posted May 2003).
I did something that’s very unnatural to me, though. I wrote a death fic. Usually, I avoid those because they are really too sad for the sensitive soul that I am. But killing the man that is most dear to me (save for my husband) was the only way I knew how to wrap my head around the pairing my muse insisted upon.
The story’s title is less than greatness. But it got stuck in my head, blocking the entrance to more suitable alternatives.
Finally, the message ToraK posted on December 20th startled me to no end. Scanning the beginning and the end of “Ghost” only made matters worse. But I decided to pull myself together and to finish the story I was writing anyway. Then I read Tora’s story properly and was somewhat relieved. Yes, there are a lot of similarities between “Ghost” and “Chicago Hope”, but there are differences as well. I believe I can safely assume that Tora won’t sue me for plagiarism.
Title: Chicago Hope
Pairing: Kowalski/Vecchio
Warning: Death fic
Rating: R
Size: 6300 words (roughly)
( Chicago Hope )
