Well, that's all right, then! *g* Actually, as Mary enjoys pointing out to me occasionally, with giggling, it's all my own fault for being absent from the fandom for so long; a lot of people, I'm sure, have no earthly idea who the hell I am, although back In My Day, I was a very noisy and hard-to-ignore sort of person in dS.
It's so cool now to see that there's this whole Ray/Ray *thing* happening. I remember when there was no Ray/Ray except Warmth of Spring/Heat of Summer, and I swear to God, I remember the exact moment that Barbara Webb and I were having dinner at Perkins and talking about her 1Ray2Ray series, and she said, "I have this terrible, twisted affection for Ray and Ray; maybe next time I'll write them getting together," and I said, "The fandom will eat you alive," and she said, "So what?" and I said, "Then what the hell, you should end *this* one with them together; that's where it feels like it's going anyway." And so she did, and it was this enormous fucking scandal, and it just amuses me so much now, how not-an-enormous-fucking-scandal it is anymore, how many people do it and like it and admit to liking it. It makes me just delightfully happy.
