that line had me breathless, and then I looked up the original and read it.
The original reads to me like someone who could have had something and didn't go for it (I could be wrong)
And this reads like Ray went for it and still can't quite believe he gets to have what he wants (or at least can't believe where he is now, like a dream)
Either way, this was amazing (you made me look up poetry!)
