Wow, this was such a unique fic! I've read stories that combined recipes with plot and characterization, but I've never seen all three mixed up together in the same bowl and baked to perfection. And please pardon my metaphor. :-)
There's a wonderful layer of meta to all three of these: I couldn't help but think of each section as a how-to guide to writing an angsty character study, a ubiquitous first-time fics that revolve around pain and misunderstanding, or a sweet, sensual romance complete with a happy ending. Next time I beta for a brand new writer I'll point them in this direction and say, "Dude, follow this. It'll help turn you into a master chef."
Anyway. This was a wonderfully creative and unexpected fic. Having just finished "Confirmation Bias" I'm stunned by your range: your two most recent stories have little in common (besides sound mechanics and a great insight into what makes a good yarn) and yet I can't really imagine anyone else in the fandom writing them. Great work again, China!
