That's how I see it - first he's this scared little kid in the bank, and then he gets mad, and the rest, as you say, is pretty much history.
It's odd how stories tell themselves, ain't it? When I first started writing I hadn't thought about Ray thinking of his feelings for Fraser as a betrayal, but then it just made sense.
