Aw, L, this is wonderful! I love absolutely every single word, although my favourite bit is the idea that Fraser can choose to whether or not to change, but that the moon pulls him like the tide (that was a lovely metaphor, btw). It fits so beautifully with Fraser's need for self-control.
Your description of the first change was just perfect, if kind of heartbreaking. And I love all the descriptions of people's smells. And I love how seeing Ray through his wolf-eyes for the first time makes everything clear. And I love how Fraser is a little different as a wolf (the swearing!).
