Now that I've gone back over other people's comments, and I've had more time to mull, I think I've got a better picture of what's going on - I think my "Huh?" did have a lot to do with having grown up reading a lot more Twain and not so much Dante. :)
So yeah, since you've very kindly given permission, I'll go ahead and allow myself that hopeful ending. ;D
