Ooh. Y'know, funnily enough? I was actually totally thinking of (and playing on iTunes) Dave van Ronk while writing that section. I even went so far as to make sure that it was recorded early enough that Caroline could have been listening to it.
"Dink's Song" is one of my very favorite songs ever. I do generally think of it as really a woman's song - I just recently discovered Barbara Dane's cover of it, which is awesomesauce - but van Ronk's version really is amazing.
So yeah, I'm doing a bit of flailing myself, over here. ♥
