Common Courtesy

Ray was in full rant mode. All the way home and up the stairs to his apartment, he ranted. "It only takes an extra second to be courteous, isn't that what you always say, Fraser?" Fraser took the question as rhetorical since Ray didn't give him a chance to answer.

"That's all I want. Just for once for her to be courteous to me. It wasn't like I was asking her anything personal. It was a legitimate question about the case. Why's she got to be that way? Huh?"

Ray opened his apartment door and stood aside to let Fraser enter first. Fraser held the door until Ray was inside. He shut the door, turned to Ray and pushed him against it. He looked Ray squarely in the eyes and said, "Because she's a bitch, Ray. Stella Kowalski is a bitch, now will you shut up about her and kiss me, please?"

Ray's face lit up. It was smiles like these that had make Fraser fall in love with his partner. "Yeah. Fuck Stella." Ray's head lifted from the door and their mouths met.

When the kiss ended, Fraser put his lips to Ray's ear and whispered, "I don't want to fuck Stella. I'd rather fuck you. Please?"

Ray smiled again. "Now that's what I wanted. A little common courtesy. Thank you, Fraser."

"Thanks are usually given afterwards, Ray."

"Just trying to be courteous, Frase. Afterwards, I've got a feeling that I won't be in any kind of shape to talk. Now, pitter-patter, let's get at 'er before I die of waiting."

Fraser laughed and followed Ray into the bedroom. Apparently, courtesy time was over, which suited him just fine, thank you kindly.

I liked this and found it in perfect character for Fraser to give such an opinion of Stella. This *is* the guy who said his superintendant, Denis, was "stupid" in 'One Good Man'.

It always shocks me a bit when harsh words come out of Fraser's oh-so-pure mouth. Be they swear words or something like what you noted, calling someone stupid. It always takes me back a little. I'm sure it did Ray too. ::g:: Thanks for taking that extra minute to comment.

Thanks, Mergatrude. I can see how Stella could get exasperated with Ray mooning after her, but sometimes she's just a bitch for no reason. Glad you liked the ending. ;)
