Okay, so this is by no means settled for sure, but we're currently running two to one in favor of continuing to float. I think at the moment I'm also in favor of this in that it lets us squeak that extra day into the challenge--like the Beatles, we have eight days a week. *g*

But again, I'm listening, I'm all ears, so talk to me, the lines are open.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, and before I forget! [livejournal.com profile] rowanfairchild and [livejournal.com profile] bethbethbeth suggested that I should be exhorting folks to archive their stories! Preserve that work--go upload your stuff to DSA, dueSlash, your personal web pages, any or all archives of your choice, because we're generating loads of good work here and we might as well make sure it's available for other folks to enjoy in the future. And we don't want everything riding on the LJ "memory" system. Put the challenge title into the notes and stick your work someplace safe! (I think DSA even has a challenge category; I'll look into that.)

Anyway, consider yourselves duly exhorted. Speranza over and out.

Just a further note on the archiving thing: I've noticed a number of people have made space on their own websites for their timed-out flashfiction stories, and that's great. I've done that too. But the archives are, of course, the place where newcomers to the fandom go first (especiallly if they're not hooked into LJ culture), and it would be great if the archives reflected the current high level of fandom activity.

(Note to self: practice what you preach...get those longer flashfiction stories archived! *g*)

Oh, and re the floating thing? I'd *still* rather have a fixed deadline, but I've survived up until now (and...you know the deadlines are still fixed, right folks?...just not the same *day* every week), so I have no problem bowing to the will of the majority.

::sigh:: The places my mind goes.

Three Hail Marys, two Our Fathers, and an Act of Contrition...

Float vs fixed

Please consider this one voat for float, (alternatively, one vote for flote).
