Trial

Stella Kowalski glares over at her alarm clock. She doesn’t know why she sets it the night before she has a big court appearance. She always wakes up at least half an hour before it goes off.
Sighing, she shuts off the alarm one minute before it sounds and slides out from under the covers. She shuffles to the bathroom and turns the shower on so the water’s cool to the touch. That and her citrus body wash will assure she’s completely awake for trial.
Stella ponders her case strategy as she blows her hair dry and puts on her light makeup. Not too much, but enough to bring out her eyes. Her plan is good and strong and logical. The detectives on the case did good follow up work. It won’t be easy to put this guy away, but with the right amount of strength in front of the judge and jury, she ought to be able to put him in jail for a very long time.
Moving to her walk-in closet, Stella chooses a navy suit and a crisp white blouse from the racks. She starts to pull on her pantyhose when she stops, knowing that she needs to insure her confidence in the court room today. Slipping the nylon off her feet, she digs in her underwear drawer, searches frantically for a moment until she finally finds what she’s looking for.
Stella slides her feet into the leg holes trimmed with black, pulling the tiger-striped underpants into place on her body. She looks in the mirror, smiling at the black-trimmed fly at the front because it makes her feel like she could reach in there and pull out the dick many of her colleagues believe she has.
In the mirror by the front door of her apartment, Assistant States Attorney Stella Kowalski checks her reflection one last time and then strides out into the sunny morning with confidence. She’s going to win.
