ADMIN POST: Policy Clarification

For the record, DS_Flashfiction does not have a beta requirement; you may post stories in whatever state you wish. However, feedback is not required to be positive, either, and if you post an unbetaed, unspellchecked or otherwise messy story, I think people are within their rights to say what they like about it, anonymous or not (though not is rather more respectable, no?)

HOWEVER. I've decided I do have an issue about off-topic posts. ds_flashfiction is a community for DS fiction, specifically challenge responses. I have let the occasional OT post in, mainly requests for betas, and I now fear that this has given the impression that posting of a non-fictional kind is allowed. It isn't. I'm the only one who gets to post non-fictionally here, and even then, only on topics of direct import to the community.

Under the circumstances, however, I think that requests for betas ought to continue to be permitted.

So here's the skinny: from now on, all posts must be either challenge responses of the usual sort, or requests for beta, which should be short and to the point.

If you want to talk about Due South, please go to ds_discourse. If you want to talk about writing issues, please try ds_writers. If you want to talk about the state of your own life, please take it to your own livejournal. Members of this community want to read about Benton Fraser & Co., not you.

So from this point on, I will be deleting all OT posts.

(This post will be put into memories for future reference.)

Dammit! Just when I was going to start talking politics here, too. I mean, really. What's happened to this country? Used to be, every family had 2.5 slashers and a repressed transsexual dog, and now look at it! I blame the Home & Garden Network.

But sigh fine. I won't do it here. By the way? Still an excellent job with the community and the adminning and everything. You're of the rocking.

I love HGTV. It confused me at first, though. I thought Designing for the Sexes was Designing for Sex. It was quite a letdown, let me tell you.
