A dodecal, this time (which, they tell me, is a story of exactly 144 words).

Bringing back not-so-fond memories of a recent con I attended:

Fraser snuggled closer to the warm body beside him. He inhaled the sweet, musky scent of his friend and partner. He revelled in the sensation of bare skin on skin. He assured himself that there was truly nothing about this man he didn't love completely and whole-heartedly, from his spiky hair to his knobbly knees to his elegant feet.

It wasn't working. They had been lovers for three days, now, and for three nights he'd been unable to sleep.

He carefully disengaged himself from Ray and gingerly sat up. And glared at Ray's back. Then turned and glared at Diefenbaker, who was curled up on the floor beside the bed.

He pondered for a moment the bizarre auditory coincidence that both man and beast would be snoring in the same key. Then he shook his head, grabbed his pillow, and headed for the couch.

Smartypants!

No, really, this is great. And actually true. I say this as someone who has a buzz-saw for a boyfriend.

I have a thing for stories that parallel Ray and Dief. As--erm--you may have noticed. (Also, I have a thing for clowns and canadian shacks, but that's neither here nor there.) Anyway, I love love the idea that Ray and Dief snore in the same key--it hits my "Fraser loves Ray for all the reasons he loves Dief," kink. Or in this case, he has similar problems with the two of them. *g*

I smell a challenge...

Maybe you issue a clown challenge, then.

This made me laugh. My husband snores, so I totally get this story. Fraser is going to have to learn to smack Ray in the head and tell him to roll over.

Just goes to prove my point - Fraser's always much happier when he sleeps with Vecchio ....

Very clever interpretation of the "key" challenge. Poor Fraser, maybe he should at least banish Dief to the living room at night. Nah, that would be mean.

At least they're in tune. I'd think the alternative would be even worse!

who has a vision in her head of Fraser trying to fit Dief with a breathing strip...

Hee hee.

I used to share a room with a sister who raised the roof with her snoring. There's no way anyone, especially Fraser with his bat ears, could ignore that. :-)

Too bad Ray's elegant feet don't make up for the noise. :)
