Five Minutes After...

ds_flashfictionI'm not new to the fandom, but I'm new to this community, so hello everyone! This is my first post here, so please be gentle with me.

Ray glanced nervously over at Benny as he steered the Riv through the suburbs of Chicago. Benny had been quiet ever since leaving St. Fortunata. Actually, he had been silent. He had literally not uttered one word since leaving the school.
Benny wasn’t really upset, was he? He’d just been teasing, right? They both had been kidding around. “Benny?” He said cautiously.
No answer. He sighed quietly and tried again. “Benny, you hungry? Want to go grab a bite to eat?”
“No thank you.”
Benny was using his most formal, polite tone of voice, and Ray sighed again. Benny was definitely sulking. “Benny, don’t be upset. I was just teasing, I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.”
Benny didn’t say anything, he just continued staring out the window.
Ray swore under his breath and pulled the Riv over to the side of the road and cut the engine.
Benny looked over at him in surprise. “Ray...”
Ray unlatched his seatbelt and turned to face Benny. “Look, Benny, what I said before was true. I do like a person who is kind and honest, with a good sense of humor. And you do have those qualities, Benny. And so many other wonderful qualities as well.”
Benny’s posture relaxed slightly, and he turned to face Ray. It was hard to see his face in the darkness, but it looked like he was smiling.
“And it’s true that I do like a woman who is a woman...”
Benny stiffened again and turned to look out the window, and Ray slid closer and placed a hand on Benny’s thigh.
“But Benny, I also like a man who is a man. And you are definitely a man.”
Benny turned to face him again, and even in the dim light, Ray could see that he was smiling this time. Ray slid his hand up Benny’s leg to his crotch and squeezed. “All man,” he whispered.
He leaned in and kissed Benny, and Benny responded, cupping the back of Ray’s head in his hand and pulling him closer.
Finally, Ray pulled away. The street was dark and quiet, but it wasn’t deserted. The last thing he needed was to be caught making out with another man.
Benny gave a groan of disappointment and frustration as Ray pulled away, and Ray gave him another quick kiss.
Moving back to his own seat, Ray fastened his seatbelt and started the engine, noticing Benny fastening his seatbelt as well. “So, Benny,” Ray asked as he steered the car back onto the road, “what are you doing tonight?”
“Something with you,” Benny answered.

You know what, the dubbed version we get from NHK is even slashier. Sadly, that Ray line "I just like a woman who's, you know, a woman" had to be translated with a "I don't like men, I like women." But they more than make up for it when our Fraser responds, "What's wrong with men?" In a really pouty voice. The rest is also very cute.
