Invisible Scars
By Sam80853
It’s just an ordinary day at work. I’m sittin’ at my desk doing paper work – I cut my finger twice already.
Fraser has to be here any minute to pick me up for dinner or whatever it was we planned to do. Somewhere around eating more vegetables I lost track but it isn’t really important what we do or what I have to eat as long as I can be with him.
And there he is, my dear Mountie-friend and even if he isn’t wearing his bright red uniform Francesca spotted him already, flinging herself at him.
Boy, this woman has to have radar to pick up any Mountie signal.
Fraser goes all stiff while she touches him all over, probably babbling polite stuff to get her off him when all he wants to do is scream for her not to touch him. It doesn’t work, it never does and I know how much he hates to be touched like this, without permission.
I guess it never occurs to him to just say “no” or “take your hands off me”.
Maybe he heard “no” too often himself or his reaching hand was slapped away any time he looked for closeness and he just doesn’t want to hurt someone like he was hurt.
There are scars you can see and there are scars you can’t; he’s got both. Some you would smile about like when he was beaten with a dead otter but others that make you want to beat something like that bullet in his back he’s got from Vecchio. And there are wounds that make me want to kill the person who hurt him. Muldoon who took away not just his mother but his childhood, that chick Victoria who broke his heart and made him think to stay the hell away from love and add his father to the list for not showing his son how loved and special he is. He was hurt in so many ways it’s a miracle that he still can see the good in people.
He still struggles with Francesca and it looks like dancing to me. A dance where one part isn’t cooperative. I think it’s never this way when I’m in Fraser’s personal space and I’m there as often as I can. He works with me then. We’re moving as a duet as one and sometime I’ll just ask him if it’s alright for me to touch him. I’ll lay my hand on his chest right above his heart where he was hurt most.
The End
