Is there a limit to how many stories we can post for a challenge? I mean, there has to be, right? Someone be nice, and tell me two, before I start writing more? Because this challenge is killing my brain. *dies by plot bunny*
*koff* Anyway. A Stella story about the very early days of their marriage. 550 words.
It took almost a full year of marriage before Ray got to see Stella naked. She was a virgin on their wedding night, mostly because it was hard enough knowing their parents were going to kill them when they were married. Taking the chance of her getting pregnant or anyone finding out was just too much stress. So they waited until they'd tied the knot and gotten their own place.
For the first year, they made love nearly every night, but it was always with the lights out, so the only light in the room was whatever happened to make it through the curtains Ray's mom had made them for a wedding gift. They were always under the covers, either the thin, soft sheets or the think, heavy blanket, both of which were from the set given to them by Stella's parents.
Their lovemaking was slow, uncertain, always sweet. Ray learned Stella's body with his hands and his mouth, though more with the first because Stella was shy about the rest of it. At least in the beginning. Her hands mostly knew his hair and his shoulders, but occasionally she'd hold him, staking her claim with a gentle, uncertain touch and small, warm fingers.
It was late spring and the room was just a little too warm. Ray had turned down the heat but he couldn't do much else without opening a window, and then it'd probably get too cold. Sitting on his side of the bed, his back against the headboard and clad only in underwear himself, Ray suggested she sleep naked.
At first, her eyes had widened and then she'd laughed, as if it was a joke. But Ray was serious and when she sat down on her side of the bed, he moved so he was behind her and he placed his hands at the hem of her short nightgown. He said her name into her ear, before kissing the outer shell.
Stella sighed and raised her arms for him. Once bare except for her panties, she tried to turn to climb straight under the covers, but Ray caught her before she could and he clasped her loosely. "Please, Stella," he asked. He'd waited forever to hold her and since he'd gotten that he'd waited months to see her. "I love you, Stella." Forever.
She nodded a moment later, her head tilted forward in such a way that her hair covered her face. She was body shy, though Ray told her she was beautiful so often, she should have believed it by then. But despite her shyness, she gave in to him, letting him have his way until she was on her back, lying bare on the bed. Ray, naked as well by that time, stretched out on his side beside her.
He kissed her shoulder and her neck, traced the outline of her side and her hip with his hands, but he didn't move to make love to her, not immediately. Instead, he held her close and loose, protected in his embrace and secure in his love.
For him, there was a joy in knowing no one else had ever seen her this way. He knew, with all his nineteen years of certainty and love, that no one else ever would. "I'll always love you, Stella."
