This is not the one I intended to post, but you know that wolf. He always has to have his say.

Diefenbaker was one pissed off wolf. Those two, his two legged packmates, had shut the door in his face. They went into the sleeping/mating place and before he could follow, they shut him out.

Perhaps because his second, Scratchy Fur, didn't appreciate his helpful hints the last time he mounted new third, the ruffled furred one. Scratchy Fur had certainly never tried to mount the first third, the one Dief was sure had mange. How was he to know that losing one's fur was common a thing among the two leggers? Melted snow now, his first third was gone, and this one had gained his place in the pack.

He snorted. If the two leggers could do what he could, they wouldn't need each other. Diefenbaker licked his balls and sighed.

I love the end of your story, the punchline of the joke, why do dogs lick their balls? It's a riot and as always, Dief gets the last word.

Whew! Thanks, Shay. I'll stop worrying then. You know what joke I was thinking about when I wrote it? One of Lewis Grizzard's stories where Earl and Bubba were watching a dog lick where dogs will lick and Earl turned to Bubba and said, "Heh, heh, I wish I could do that." Budda replied, "Earl, that dog would bite yoooou." ::snerk::

This is adorable. I love looking through Dief's eyes as he tries to figure out human behavior. Do you think he's told Fraser he calls him Scratchy Fur? That's hysterical!

Thanks, Ardent. I rather think Dief keeps the Scratchy Fur name to himself. It's funny because I thought of Ray's ruffled fur name first, then I was wondering what he'd call Fraser...wool serge, scratchy, hey! Scratchy Fur! ::g::
