If it's possible to write good and bad!fic at the same time, you just did. That was pure evil genius!

...am totally fucking speechless.
No, wait, I'm not. This is... incredible. How much do I love the idea, the creativity for this? And how much do I adore you for the little touches, the fact that Ray K writes notes on the back of Benton's stationery, or the fact Benton has printed stationery, or that Ray V always signs the name of his gang on his notes, or that Benton is a member of The Subversive Authors Club, or that at the very end, there is an honest to goodness sweet and genuine and sly moment in Fraser's last note.

Kid, this may have started out as the wrongest of the wrong bad!fic prompts, but of all the ones I've read (which is most of them), and not just because you started with my dopey prompt, I find this to be the most wonderful story of all.

Okay, you guys win at fic.

As a rule, I love epistolary stories, but you went above and beyond with the perfect images with all the details -- Ray K's responses written on the back of original notes and the menu, with the front side showing through; the different handwriting appropriate to the characters.

And then, there is, of course, the story, in which you've managed to say so much with so little and keep everybody in character, even as kids. This story made me smile more than anything has in a long time. Yay you!

Okay, there have been some GREAT entries in this challenge, but I'm sitting here flabbergasted after reading this one. YOU. FUCKING. RULE! A great story, the letters, the handwriting, the characterizations, the spin-the-bottle faux pas, Ray writing on the back of the stationery (with smudges and ink spots and so on), Stella's high-school girl "purple" prose (and her hating Vecchio!)--but when I saw the note from Ray on the back of the Chinese restaurant menu!!--I keeled over ded! You killed me!

I bow before your genius.

This? Was an epistolatory masterpiece to rival Clarissa. Actually, these characters didn't make me want to spork out my own brain, and also made me laugh in something that was not disgust, so it whupped Clarissa hands down and is now ready to take on the almighty Pride&Prejudice liek WO! Also, the purple letter from ShEL was totally my favourite.

And now I want the scene where the 'Tudes break out the close harmony on catchy poptunes, right before moving into synchronised high kicks while tossing their leather jackets in the air. *jazz hands* YEAH!
