Prompt 47. Stella/Frannie. "It was fun for a while." For
cathybites
Title: A perfect arrangement
Rating: R
Notes: 295 words. Many thanks to
omphale23 for beta.
It was fun for a while, Stella thought, being with Frannie.
Frannie was giggling in bed and rambling diatribes that she didn't mind Stella laughing at and going straight from long, lazy make out sessions on the couch to talking about her ridiculous crush on Constable Fraser.
Frannie was selfish when it came to sex, and Stella was shocked at how much she liked that. Having somebody just let her explore and do her thing, somebody who'd tell her when it wasn't working, rather than need so desperately to make everything perfect for her. Because of Frannie's selfishness, Stella's success, the times when she made Frannie arch into her touch and demand and push herself onto Stella's tongue or fingers or both, all felt truer, better. And since Frannie's world didn't revolve around Stella's pleasure, it was easier to relax and enjoy her. To ask for more. To be selfish herself.
Being with Frannie was a relief, a good place to go when she was overworked and stressed out. And because Frannie didn't love her, there was no guilt when she couldn't see her for days, even weeks, on end. Frannie was sometimes available, sometimes not, and, as much as she seemed to like being with Stella, not being with her wasn't the end of her brightly colored world.
It was a perfect arrangement, really.
Except for those times when Stella sat at her desk, tapping her fingers, incapable of focusing on her job because of Frannie on her mind, Frannie's inane, addictive chatter and the feel of their bodies together and that almost soundless gasp she'd make as Stella pushed her past teasing and giggling and into pleasure and need.
It wasn't as much fun anymore; Stella was certain Frannie didn't dream about her.

And I just want to pet Stella.
Yeah, me, too.
Thanks so much for the comment.

OUCH.
And the pity is that, if Frannie did eventually see possibilities with Stella beyond cool girl-on-girl stuff, she could get clingier than Ray, I think. And how much would Stella hate that?
I love the last line. It has a great little hurty punch! You're SO good at this.

Oh, absolutely. Definitely. I liked the idea of Frannie being the more cherished half of the pair, but it totally depends on her obliviousness. Sad.
Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled it worked for you.
