Just a goofy little drabble.

Tracy’s already into her set by the time I get there. Stumble in the dark, scanning ahead for the 2-7 gang, when the opening strums of “Nobody’s Girl” make me look up. Fraser steps hesitantly out from the curtains to join Tracy on stage, and I just sink into the nearest seat.

He looks nervous, serious. This means something to him. I never really knew. Jitters aside, he hits his notes clear, strong and sweet. Even starts to get into it, doing that little back and forth tick-tock human metronome thing. He’s such a dork.

God, I love him.

Guh!

I love *you*! (Okay, TMI for the rest of you, I know.)

But really -- perfectemundo. ::making complicated Italianate finger-kissing gesture::

Stuff that's making me very happy on a raining-like-stink Monday morning:

1) This, in its entirety;
2) The sweet spin it puts on the ending of my least favorite season 3-4 episode ('cause we all *knew* Ray was there somewhere);
3) "Human metronome" (heh);
4) That icon (guh);
5) You, posting! You rock! ::fist-pump::

I hate to say it, because Ray would kick me in the head, but this really is adorable. It makes me think of first love in junior high where you call them a dork in the same breath you say you love them. Of course, Ray's experience of falling in love all took place in high school so it makes sense.

Anyway, this made me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy.

Oh man, this is so good - a little bit of insight from Ray that goes a long way.

The only two things I ever remember from this episode are Turnbull's lunch with Frannie and the exchange where Ray tells Fraser he moves like a block of wood...but sings like a bird. And then yanks Fraser's chain with "I didn't say what kind of bird." It's a sweet and telling speech in the episode, and this drabble has the same effect -- it shows the real love and affection Ray has for his dorky friend. I liked this very, very much.

I just watched this ep again over the weekend and, for the first time, forced myself to watch Fraser "dance". I usually have my hands over my eyes, because I always thought it was even worse than it is.

He really is a dork, and I think that's what makes him lovable. You really captured that, dude. Mmmm.
