Think you know who wrote today's stories? Guess here!

For Team Reality we have a problem of memory.

And for Team Whimsy, My Life As A Dog.

Happy guessing!

a problem of memory is [livejournal.com profile] omphale23 or somebody doing an incredibly good impression of her.

Heee, are you sure? Because you couldn't figure out which one was hers last year...

Not that I'm questioning your abilities re: divination! Just, y'know. Track record. :P

I didn't try last year. If I had, I totally would have gotten it. No question at all.

Dude. Don't even pretend; I totally had you fooled last year. You couldn't believe I'd write F/V, even for Match.

You're wrong! So terribly, tragically wrong. I even told Nos last year, in chat or comments or somewhere, that I was betting you'd be sneaky and write Vecchio!fic. But I still didn't make the leap and recognize your fic. Clearly I was distracted by wombats, because I read it and loved it and all but still didn't snap into my oh so suave fic detective mode. Damn those wombats.

Uh huh. You keep telling yourself stories about wombats or beavers or platypi (platypuses? platypice? platypeese? fuck.) if that helps you sleep at night.

I was sneaky and you were totally fooled. I shall continue to believe that until the day I forget about it.

(Not that I can talk, because I'm pretty sure I didn't get yours last year, either. But then I suck at guessing and also at remembering what I've already guessed. I'm pretty sure I've suggested the same people three or four times so far this year.

Is it possible you guys only really have three authors, and are just pretending to have all submitted something? Because surely the entire team can't be so equally awesome all the time, right?)

Oooh. Platypuses or platypi, although Wikipedia weighs in with my favorite bit of randomness for the day: There is no universally agreed upon plural of "platypus" in the English language. Scientists generally use "platypuses" or simply "platypus". Colloquially, "platypi" is also used for the plural, although this is pseudo-Latin;[3] the Greek plural would be "platypodes".

Good to know!

Also, no platypi were involved in my failure to detect authorship. For the record.

You totally didn't last year, either. We'll see how it goes this year, eh? *raises eyebrow* *waits for reveal* *impatiently*

We're really all Just That Good. *is both humble and modest on behalf of team* But you guys are also rocking, I must say. Seriously, next time I get wistful about the fab writers who've drifted away? Point at the Match. SO FUCKING GREAT.

Okay, now I'm totally calling them platypodes. That's awesome. And I'm writing them into my current fic. Somehow. I'll find a way.

Seriously, next time I get wistful about the fab writers who've drifted away? Point at the Match. SO FUCKING GREAT.

God, yes. Is it wrong of me to want to figure out some way to do an anonymous posting fest for the snippets comm? I have no idea how it would work, but. If anonymous posting = \o/ fic, I am in favor of it.

Of course, the awesome results could be the result of some other aspect of the Match. Can we get some sort of study? Maybe a poll on "just where does the awesomeness of DS Match originate?"

I haven't made any guesses to date, because I am mostly clueless, but on this one I'm right with you.

I thought at first the Whimsy submission might be [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], but now I want to sign on with Nos's suggestion of [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat. The synesthesia thing, though. That makes it tough.

I'm gonna guess that [livejournal.com profile] green_grrl wrote "My Life as a Dog". She's a fan of Laferette and Vodoun.

Ok, now I feel like a dork, cause I was thinking [livejournal.com profile] etcetera_cat did the otter story, but now I'm thinking that I was wrong and she's responsible for "My Life as a Dog".
