[livejournal.com profile] aingeal8c suggested an Inuit Story challenge. Fic could be set during Fraser's childhood or during canon (or after!), with Quinn or Eric or someone else telling traditional folk tales; Fraser could tell one to sway perps, or to distract one of the Rays or someone else (Welsh or Thatcher! hee!); or the Inuit story could be recounted second- or third-hand, say by Kowalski to Vecchio. Or what if Welsh ordered Huey and Dewey to be more like Fraser...

Stories from other First Nations traditions are also welcome.

It's May 26 -- stories are due by midnight, June 10, Chicago time.

I did suggest such a challenge (not that I had forgotten oh no...). YAY!

The world needs more stories with Inuit tales in them.

Yes. How could I forgotten them? The sisters with their many shoes and the kids who woke Fraser up by throwing a ball in his direction. And Victoria and Albert who don't think much of the TV programming in Chicago.

Also they built a sweatlodge in Fraser's apartment. Which is just awesome.

He was also Eric (or supposed to be). Or meant to be. Then they changed the actor. Also randomly one plot PH was thinking of instead of VS to round off S1 was Fraser having to track down an Inuit friend and watching the guy choose to kill himself rather than be arrested. And Fraser would be all angsty and guilty.

Oh, wow. That would've been an interesting episode. But I wouldn't have wanted to be without VS, though.

Clearly somebody needs to write that...I mean, it can't just not exist.

Me too--"The Reaching Out One" is all about the Dene stories. But maybe I'll think of another one.

Could the deadline be extended a little?

*is currently whipping a draft into shape and trying to persuade it to be a bit more Inuit Story like*
