A small pink heart sits right in the center of Frasier’s desk.
“Be Mine”.
Next to it is the file Ray promised to bring over.
A smile grows on his face. This thing between them is new. He wants to reciprocate, to return this seasonal gesture.
It takes three packets of hearts, his tongue multicolored from eating the rejects, but he’s found what he wants.
Later, there’s a small lavender heart in the middle of Ray’s desk, and his colleagues are all smiling knowingly at him. He can’t help the grin that lights up his face at the word.
“Always”.
