Admin Post: New Challenge: Due South Soundtrack Challenge

We haven't done a song!fic challenge on this comm since 2005 and at that point, everyone picked a random song. And Spotify didn't exist then. I think Napster was still a thing, maybe?

For this challenge though, let's take our inspiration from all the amazing music that played on the show during its run. And I don't mean just what was on the official due South Soundtrack releases. If a song played during any episode, feel free to use it to jump-start your fic ideas!

To get you started (or to wallow in nostalgia), here's a Due South Songs Playlist on Spotify

I made the Spotify Playlist with as many of the songs as I could find on there. Some of them didn’t seem to be there, so here are some other links of interest:

Meeep! The new challenge (and it's an excellent one) is up while I'm still writing for the Chicago Challenge! I was writing overnight until 6:00 AM and then took a sleep-break for a few hours.Then RL intruded during the afternoon and early evening. Now I'm back to writing...and wondering about posting to the Chicago Challenge if the time gets to be a couple hours after midnight before I'm ready to post.

Eh, I'm pretty relaxed about deadlines. I feel like I'd rather grow this comm than be super-strict about them.

I knew we were taking that as a general stance for this comm (and I agree with it) -- but I still wanted to not take it for granted and to check. So, okay, I'm still aiming for midnight but it could be a bit later. (Also, I might be beta'ing for someone else who is writing for this comm, so I'm going to let her know it's "relaxed midnight, not exact midnight".)

I created a due South playlist on YouTube with as many of the songs as I could find. I'm not sure how much of it will be accessible outside of Canada, but there you are.

I love the soundtrack and listen to it often to relax. I'm excited to see what writers come up with, using it as inspiration!
