Admin Post: New Challenge: Fluff

Let's have your fluffiest, fluffy fluff fic! We all need something soft and fluffy these days, right??

Coming attractions: in the past, this comm has had a Halloween Genre challenge, and we will do the same, starting October 20.

Also, I'm going to close out the icon challenge tomorrow, so get your votes in if you haven't already!

Authors: please tag your fic with your author tag. If you are new, I will make a tag for you as soon as I get the posting notification.

This challenge will run until October 6, 2019 at midnight, Chicago time (CDT, UTC-6). Please tag your entries with 'challenge: fluff’. Have fun, everyone!

I've noticed that no one has participated for the last two challenges. Please, please submit your suggestions if you have something you're burning to write. Comment to the community sticky post with your idea.

I don't think people have meant to not participate... I think they're finishing their dSc6dBB fics or working on another challenge or exchange. I know I've meant to participate... but between trying to finish my BB, taking on more mod stuff for dSSS bc one mod had to take a step back to "consulting" mod d/t IRL issues, looking for another job (which now requires endless amounts of online work at online applications), & working at the current one... There's just no time. As it is I am not sure I'll even make the secondary/complimentary deadline for my BB fic, which the BB mods were kind enough to grant me for what was supposed to be a primary work. Sigh.

Ditto what verushka70 said (and I'm the dSSS mod who had to take a step back to being a "consulting" mod). Betweeen what I am still doing as far as the dSSS plus the toll of time and energy on me since becoming the full-time caregiver to a sick family member along with also working a full-time outside-the-home job, I just can't seem to get it together beyond that to find a time and place where I can be alone and undisturbed to do any deadline-driven fic-writing.

I really <3 this comm -- my absence from writing fic for it in no way reflects an absence of desire and intention.

Well, I can't speak for others, but I've been wanting to participate in this revived comm the whole time I've been working on my BB fic!

Here's a thought: each time there is a new challenge, why not put it on fandomcalendar.dreamwidth.org?

I'm planning to do that later tonight with our dSSS sign-up reminder post that's already been posted to ds-noticeboard & ds-ssdiscussion. I believe Squidgie also put it on Tumblr.

Maybe people who are in other fandoms but also like dS, or were more active in dS previously, would see a notice on fandomcalendar.dreamwidth.org & be interested... Especially since the minimum word count is a drabble (100 words), right?
