Here's the sequel to Loss. We decided we were technically allowed 1000 words each, so this comes in somewhere around 1700. Once again, it's an off-lj link.

Thanks [livejournal.com profile] ckr for the photos!

I was fine until we got to the pic of the duck signed by Paul Gross. Then, I lost it. :-)

Yet anothered inspired story that really redefines 'fic pic'

Heh.

I love that the photographer is Hector "Bast" - and that they've never heard of the Canadian celebrity who signed the ducks. Also making me laugh? That even the insurance company knows there's some sort of funny business going on with the name "Ray Vecchio." *g*

OMG, I laughed so freaking hard. Really good job, you guys.

The poor adjuster, having to deal with Turnbull, the mysterious new Ray, the Mountie who first came to Chicago..., and the wolf passenger. Ms. Oaks maintained a wonderful aura of professional bewilderment.

The burning Riv is still one of the funniest gags they've ever done, IMO. Even though I've seen it a zillion times, I still laughed out loud at the pics.

I read this with my mouth hanging open because you've done it again. And the rubber duckie...well, that was the knockout punch.
And I agree, special bonus points for "Bast" and "Terrapin." You are so sly!

This whole thing cracked me up...nice follow up. This was my favorite part:

According to the importer, the ducks in question were all signed by - apparently, because I have never heard of him - a Canadian celebrity.

So very amusing!

Hahahaha!

What they said.

Also, it made me feel sympathy for the beleaguered claims officer!

as an adjuster, I just wanted to say....THANK YOU! You have NO idea what it's like sometimes!

I love Fraser's insistence that Dief be included on the claim as a passenger. And Dief with an autographed rubber duck in his mouth. This was a lot of fun!
